Rashi Birla

Rashi has been dancing since the age of four training in both Western and Eastern styles of dance. She started her dance career with Pandit Chitresh Das, dancing Khatak with him for eight years. She then trained in Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop at Mission Dance and Performing Arts, where she danced on several competition teams with the studio. She has also expanded her dance repertoire to include Modern, Salsa, Bhangra, Bharata Natyam and Polynesian dance.

Rashi is a self taught Bollywood dancer and has been dancing and choreographing Bollywood dance routines throughout her youth. Rashi danced and choreographed for UCLA’s Hindi Film Dance team, Nashaa, throughout her tenure at UCLA. She lead the team to a national title in April 2007 at the Best of Best competition in Chicago.

Since 2006, Rashi has danced nationally with artistic director Achinta S. McDaniel’s blue13, a modern Indian dance company known for its signature contemporary styles inspired by Indian dance. At blue13, Rashi was a principle dancer, choreographed new work, and was a dance instructor at The Blue School.

Rashi is currently living in New York City and is excited to be a part of Sa. She is also a guest dancer for Ishaara, the Bollywood dance ensemble last seen on "America’s Got Talent". When not dancing, Rashi works as a graphic designer and a stylist.
